I’m a media trainer. That means I teach people how to do effective interviews with the media. We give people from top corporate executives to celebrity chefs and other experts the inside scoop on how reporters think; we give them techniques on how to deliver a message effectively. We travel all over the US and internationally to help our clients. More on our website at www.rcimediatraining.com. Before starting my own company in 1997, I spent more than 15 years in communications — I was VP of Communications at the Travel Channel, and before that held similar positions at E! Entertainment Television and NBC. My work at one of the top boutique PR agencies in Los Angeles gave me the opportunity to work with underwriters of quality TV programming such as Exxon and Hallmark as well as Paramount TV.
At one time I was dance critic at the Los Angeles Daily News and the Herald Examiner. I contributed dance commentaries to the NPR station in Santa Monica, CA. I was also a general assignment features reporter.
